BOTANICAL NAME: Carya pecan
AROMATIC: Pecan Oil has very little scent characteristics but like all cold pressed and untreated vegetable oils and nut oils, has a slight fatty note.
EXTRACTION METHOD: Cold Pressed
COLOUR: Clear to pale yellow
CONSISTENCY: Slightly thicker than most cold pressed vegetable oils
ABSORPTION: Pecan Oil will leave an oily film on the skin.
SHELF LIFE: Pecan nut oil is quick to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 3 to 6 Months life with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
Pecan is a well rounded carrier oil. It is often chosen as a more unique alternative to the more popular oils – grapeseed, canola, almond sweet.
USES: Pecan oil is normally used in manufacturing, or in massage therapy if small amounts are blended with other oils.
